Led by Karen Lee Conquergood, Dominican Aid has been serving impoverished communities in Sosua and Puerta Plata for more than 25 years. Karen's passion is all about helping others and remains completely committed to the families she serves. Dominican Aid provides free health care, education, clothing, meals, home repairs and a free weekly eye clinic for those in need of prescription eyeglasses.
Through the kindness and generosity of many, Dominican Aid provides a clothing and food distribution program to 13 villages in and around the communities of Puerta Plata and Sosua located on the North coast of the Dominican Republic.
Education, free health care and prescription eyeglasses are provided to children and families in need of a helping hand.
Community home repair projects are funded by Dominican Aid, stateside churches and local business organizations. The projects are then coordinated by Karen and facilitated by short term mission teams primarily from Canada and the U.S.
